    (February 25, 1897-April 5, 1960)
    Born in London, United Kingdom
Was befriended and later adopted by playwright J.M. Barrie
Inspired the name of the title character in Barrie's 'Peter Pan, or the Boy Who Would Not Grow Up' (1904)
Founded the publishing house Peter Davies Ltd. (1926)
Committed suicide by throwing himself beneath a train
Was portrayed by Freddie Highmore in the film 'Finding Neverland' (2004)
Although he was referred to as 'the original Peter Pan,' his older brothers George and Michael were much more important as inspirations.
He was alienated from Barrie after he conducted an affair with a married woman who had a daughter older than him.
He increasingly disliked being associated with 'Peter Pan,' which he called 'that terrible masterpiece.'
Although he was left a legacy in Barrie's will, he was pissed at not being the primary beneficiary.
    He was an alcoholic.
At the time of his death, he was editing his family's papers and had begun working with documents about the death of his brother Michael, who had drowned in a probable suicide at age 20 in 1921.
When he was ten, his father died of cancer; his mother also died of cancer three years later.
He was a signal officer during World War I and received the Military Cross.
In addition to his brother Michael's death by drowning, his brother George was killed in the trenches during WWI at age 21.
The authors he published included his cousin, Daphne du Maurier.
During celebrations of the centennial of Lewis Carroll's birth, he met fellow children's lit inspiration Alice 'In Wonderland' Liddell (1932).
