Why they might be annoying:

Some of their lyrical references are incredibly obscure if you are not from London.
They were sued by the Rolling Stones for using lyrics from 'Ruby Tuesday' and the bass line from 'Satisfaction' in their single 'After the Watershed.'
During the Smash Hits Poll Winners Party, Fruitbat tackled presenter Philip Schofield during the live broadcast after Schofield observed that the band smashing their instruments during their performance was not very original (1991).
They got banned from the Glastonbury Festival after Fruitbat insulted festival host Michael Eavis (1992).
Many of the songs on their final album were demo versions since the band broke up before they finished recording.

Why they might not be annoying:

They put on high-energy live shows.
Their '30 Something' t-shirts were ubiquitous among the early 90s indie crowd in Britain.
They had hit songs with unlikely topics like corrupt slumlords and child abuse.
AllMusic described them as 'a unique and thrilling prospect at its best.'
