Why Reykjavik, Iceland might be annoying:

    It is difficult to spell.
    It was basically little more than a farming village until the mid-18th century.
    Beer was banned there until 1989.
    Full scale riots, with demonstrators facing off against police with pepper spray and tear gas, broke out over the country's financial meltdown (2009).
    It only gets five hours of daylight in the winter.
    It occasionally gets covered in ash from volcanoes on the island.

Why Reykjavik, Iceland might not be annoying:

    It hosted a summit between Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev (October 11-12, 1986).
    Thanks to the Gulf Stream, it is warmer than you would expect based on its latitude.
    It is light out 24 hours a day during the summer.
    It has a very active nightlife.
    Most of its buildings are heated geothermally.
    It was named the world's 'Greenest City' by Grist magazine (2008).
