Is in the center of the profile picture, flanked by producer Jan Chapman (at left) and director Jane Campion (at right, holding Oscar)

Why she might be annoying:

She was a recluse who rarely gave interviews or attended awards shows,
She tried to keep her age secret.
During the ‘In Memoriam’ segment of the 2016 Oscars, her name was accompanied not by her picture, but instead by the picture of Jan Chapman, a still-living producer of several of the films Patterson had worked on.

Why she might not be annoying:

She was nominated for four Oscars: for her work on ‘The Piano,’ ‘The Portrait of a Lady,’ ‘Oscar and Lucinda’ and ‘Bright Star.’
Chapman called her ‘a hidden treasure of the Australian film world.’
The ‘In Memoriam’ picture snafu was overshadowed later in the Oscarcast by Warren Beatty and Fay Dunaway naming the wrong film as Best Picture.
