    Once he entered school, he was known to be a snob. Classmates only accepted him for his soccer abilities.
    'Lolita' was first published in France in 1955. Other countries refused to publish such a controversial book, and America didn't publish it until 1958, Australia in 1959.

    His novel brought two new phrases and cultural references into the world.
    He collected and studied butterflies.
    Nabokov was a lifelong insomniac and wrote all his works in the night.
