U.S. President

The Resume

    (October 27, 1858-January 6, 1919)
    Governor of New York (1898-1900)
    26th U.S. President (1901-1909)
Became president when McKinley was assassinated (September 14, 1901).

Why he might be annoying:

    He suffered from depression.
He had a tattooed in unknown location.
He made a mistake that haunted him for his entire life: After serving the final 3½ years of McKinley's term and being elected to his own four year term, at his victory speech he promised he would not run again for president.
He cited that none of his predecessors ever spent more than eight years in office and he would not either (1904).
The next morning, he realized what he said and immediately regretted it, but felt he could not go back on his promise even though he would have won the 1908 election.
He threw his support behind Taft figuring he was such a poor choice that he would lose and thus the populace would clamor for him to run in 1912.
However Taft won and Roosevelt began criticizing his policies.
In 1912 Roosevelt tried unsuccessfully to wrestle the Republican nomination from Taft but didn't. So he ran on his own party the Bull Moose Party and did beat Taft but lost to the Democrat candidate Woodrow Wilson.
His famous quote was 'Speak softly and carry a big stick.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He was famous for being anti racist.
When he was police chief of New York City an anti-semitic high German official was visiting New York, he made sure that the entire police detail who would protect the German were Jewish.
Former President Benjamin Harrison said of him: 'He wanted to put an end to all evil in the world between sunrise and sunset.'
He is the youngest man ever to serve as President.
He is the first U.S. President to be awarded a Nobel Peace Prize.
He is the first President to fly in a plane, ride in a car, submerge in submarine and visit a foreign country during his Presidency.
He started work on the Panama Canal.
    He was a strong environmentalist.
He liked children so much, that many times he was found playing with kids in the White House.
The Teddy Bear was named in his honor.
