Why they might be annoying:

They originally called themselves the Baseball Boys, inspired by the Baseball Furies gang in the film ‘The Warriors,’ until their manager suggested that the name was too ‘tacky.’
They admitted that they did not know what an outfield was until after they toured the US.
They were included on VH-1’s ‘Top 100 One-Hit Wonders of the 80s’ countdown despite having had five Top 40 hits.
They never had a hit in their native Britain.
A critic described their music as ‘numbingly derivative of just about every Journey/Foreigner/Cars cliché in the book — with none of the style that makes those bands special.’

Why they might not be annoying:

Spinks said, ‘I love melodic music. That’s the music that gives me a rush.’
Their debut album went triple platinum.
Band members noted that they were ‘totally not into smoking or doing drugs.’
Spinks died of liver cancer at age sixty (2014).
Katy Perry, who covered ‘Your Love,’ said that its enduring appeal is that it is one of those songs that gets every woman in a club out onto the dance floor.
