Why he might be annoying:

After his first professional motorcycle race, in which he was a passenger in the sidecar while his father drove, he was disqualified for being underage (1947).
He had never even watched an auto race before taking up Formula One racing.
He quit the Ferrari team midway through the 1966 season after an argument with the team’s manager, a decision that likely cost him a second Formula One title.

Why he might not be annoying:

As of 2017, he is the only person to have won world championships in both motorcycle racing and auto racing.
A serious racing crash left the left side of his body an inch shorter than the right side (1965).
His son Henry died in a Formula 2 race at age 18 when he was struck in the head by a wheel that had broken off another car (July 19, 2009).
He established the Henry Surtees Foundation to help people recovering from brain injuries return to society and to support motorsport-related educational programs.
