Why they might be annoying:

Aaron was the only brother to have much success as a solo act.
Throughout their career they faced a classic cult act catch-22: record in traditional New Orleans style and sell few albums outside their existing following, or update their sound and get accused by their fan base of selling out.
The general critical consensus was that their studio albums, with the exception of ‘Yellow Moon,’ never lived up to the excitement of their live shows.

Why they might not be annoying:

They were usually the closing act at the annual New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
They were such a New Orleans institution that they were featured in Fodor’s tourist guide to the city.
Jimmy Buffett said, ‘Once you get attached to the Neville Brothers’ music, you never let go of it.’
Art said, ‘I like to play the funky stuff. Charles is the avant-garde jazzman. Aaron sings the pretty songs, because he has the voice. Cyril is the fire. That variety is what makes us different.’
