Sports Executive

The Resume

    (March 9, 1980- )
    Born in Youngstown, Ohio
Birth name is John Edward York
    Attended Notre Dame University
Chief executive officer for the San Francisco 49ers

Why he might be annoying:

He goes by Jed rather then his birth name of John Edward, which makes him sound like a redneck.
He got into the 49ers front office through nepotism, since his parents own the team.
He was lambasted in the media for saying the 49ers would win 11 straight games after an 0-5 start (2010).
He did nothing to diffuse a power struggle between Trent Baalke and Jim Harbaugh, opting to fire Harbaugh instead.
He faced criticism for the way the 49ers have been run under his leadership, citing he created a culture that encouraged selfishness, weakness and back-stabbing.
He compared his decision to replace Harbaugh with Jim Tomsula to that of the Golden State Warriors decision to replace Mark Jackson with Steve Kerr.

Why he might not be annoying:

He graduated from Notre Dame majoring in business and finance.
He oversaw a resurgence in popularity of the 49ers brand.
He hired the first team president from a visible minority group in NFL history.
He oversaw the 49ers make their first Super Bowl appearance in 18 years (2012).
He was quick to fire both Jim Tomsula and Chip Kelly after one season, when he realized they weren't going to work out to his plans.
Contrary to popular belief, he supported Colin Kaepernick's decision to protest the national anthem.
