Wrote 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest,' 'Sometimes A Great Notion,' 'Kesey's Garage Sale,' 'Little Tricker the Squirrel Meets Big Double the Bear,' 'Caverns,' 'The Further Enquiry,' 'The Sea Lion,' 'Demon Box,' 'Sailor Song' and 'Last Go Round'

Why he might be annoying:

His parents were dairy farmers.
He smokes.
He volunteered for drug experiments in Menlo Park, California hospital, where he worked in the psychiatric ward.
He traveled around America in a bus with a group of friends dubbed 'The Merry Pranksters' and threw 'Acid Test' parties during the 60's.
During the 'Acid Test' parties, the punch was usually laced with hallucinogens.
He fled to Mexico when LSD became illegal.
He served 4 months in jail for a marijuana bust in California.

Why he might not be annoying:

His novels are classics.
Two of his novels, 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' and 'Sometimes A Great Notion,' were adapted into very successful movies.
'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' became a play, as well.
He became the proponent of a local band known as the 'Warlocks,' which later became the Grateful Dead.
His exploits with 'the Merry Pranksters' was immortalized into a successful novel, 'Kool-Aid Acid Test' by Tom Wolfe.
He, 'The Merry Pranksters' and his bus, 'Further,' are cultural icons of the 60's.
He died of liver cancer.
