Outfielder for the Tampa Bay (Devil) Rays (2003-08, 2010) and the Boston Red Sox (2009)

Why he might be annoying:

He was nicknamed 'The Woonsocket Rocket'
He spent the majority of his career on awful Rays teams.
He spent the majority of the 2005 and 2006 seasons on the disabled list.
He missed out on being part of the first Rays team to make the World Series as a result of injuries.
He struggled with hitting mechanics during the earlier part of his minor league career.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was one of the few bright spots during the Rays lean years.
He finished in the top three for AL Rookie of the Year voting (2003).
He was diagnosed with mitochondrial channelopathy, which forced him to end his career prematurely.
Since he was a native of the New England region, he fulfilled a childhood dream by playing for the Red Sox.
He was inducted into the Rhode Island Italian-American Hall of Fame (2004).
