The Resume

    (1986- )
    Born in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada
Created by disc jockeys at a radio station in Lethbridge during the late 1980's
Satirical view of a fictional aboriginal radio station in Brocket, Alberta
Notable parodies include 'Beer Run,' 'Loose or Tight,' 'Addicted to Pam,' 'Squaws to Chase,' 'Lysol Rap' and 'Every Squaw I Screw'

Why they might be annoying:

Prior to a documentary being released, there was confusing stories ranging of its origin from college students to Royal Canadian Mounted Police officers impersonating First Nations people.
It is viewed as being extremely offensive and racist towards aboriginals.
They use derogatory terms to describe aboriginals.
They play on many Canadian aboriginal stereotypes such as drug and alcohol abuse, living off welfare, promiscuous sexual activity and compulsive bingo playing.
As the original broadcast gained traction, there were many parodies of popular songs, which portray aboriginals in an unflattering light.
It was started after one of the disc jockeys at the radio station was shocked at the high transient aboriginal population and decided to make a satire tape with his friends.
Many of the parodies were songs recorded after 1991, are mistakenly believed to be part of the original Brocket 99 tape.
Some of the recordings openly encourage solvent abuse and domestic violence.
The host 'Ernie Scar' was revealed to be a white man and a DJ at the radio station where it was recorded.

Why they might not be annoying:

It was never intended to be marketed publicly.
It gained an underground following over the years.
It made the Brocket Peigan First Nation reserve famous.
Depends on your sense of humour, some of the commercials made were quite amusing.
Despite its offensive content, some Aboriginals don't have an issue with it.
