    Directed episodes of ‘The West Wing,’ ‘The Larry Sanders Show,’ ‘Big Love,’ ‘True Blood’ and ‘American Horror Story’
    While at USC film school, he made a student film titled ‘Beaver Gets a Boner.’
    He won the Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Director for ‘Hudson Hawk.’
    ’Because I Said So’ earned Rotten Tomatoes’ Moldy Tomato Award for worst reviewed film of the year.
    He started out answering phones at Francis Ford Coppola’s Zoetrope Studios.
    He won the Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature for ‘Heathers.’
    Several of his films have cult followings.
