TV Reality Show Contestant

The Resume

    (November 6, 1981- )
    Born in Arlington, Iowa
Suitor on ABC's The Bachelor (2015)
Appeared as a contestant on ABC's 'The Bachelorette' (2014)
    Eliminated in Week 9 (Jul. 24 2014)
Contestant on ABC's Dancing With the Stars 20
Co-owner, with parents, of Soules Farms, farming over 5,500 acres of land for corn/soybean production and pig farming

Why he might be annoying:

    He was nicknamed Prince Farming.
His hobby is paintball zombie hunting.
His signature giggle has been labeled 'the dolphin laugh,' for its similarity to the sea mammal's.
He projects the image of a himbo, complete with a blank stare suggesting cluelessness.
He is heavy into 'trailfies' - posting selfies of him riding his first love, his tractor, on social media.
He made out with Jade outside of his HS English classroom, joking about doing 'nothing that has anything to do with English... more like French!'
He broke off his engagement with his girlfriend of seven years only months before the wedding, because he 'didn't want to settle for someone good,' but he wanted 'something great.'
Jimmy Kimmel lampooned his incoherent response to Britt Nilsson's asking him why he was condoning promiscuous behavior from other contestants.
He later helped Kimmel to realize his... 'dream' of showering with the Bachelor in one of the show's outtakes (predictably unable to keep a straight face).
He claims to have been scared by a raccoon in his tree-house as a kid, inadvertently hitting his best friend in the head with a hammer to scare it out.
He has been arrested multiple times and has pled guilty to a total of 13 charges between 1998-2010, including underage possession of alcohol in 2001, assault/fleeing the scene of an accident in 2002, and a DUI in 2006.

Why he might not be annoying:

He learned to drive a tractor before he learned to drive a car.
He traces his ancestry to the Mayflower.
He went to college on a football scholarship.
He had to put up with a record number of whacko contestants.
He has a great relationship with his parents and sisters (who submitted his name for The Bachelor without his knowledge).
He was a cooking contest judge at the 2014 Iowa State Fair, where he was also showing a prized cow.
He showed natural comedic timing, as evinced by several hilarious appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
His closing comments on the Bachelorette, wishing only the best for Andi even after being eliminated, went viral with what seemed like the whole country calling for him to be the next Bachelor.
Former Bachelorette contestant and race car driver, Arie Luyendyk Jr. took a classless (or classist) shot at him when he lost out on the Bachelor slot, tweeting 'I'm not the Bachelor, have fun on the farm people!'
Feminists complained about him expressing his desire for 4-6 children and his setting a kissing record on The Bachelor (so, you know, good for Chris).
He's the rare 'Bachelor' who seems very genuine/family-oriented, and not just another athlete or pilot looking to bed the hottest woman he can find.
