Religious Figure
God of the underworld/dead in ancient Egyptian religion
Married to goddess Isis and father of god Horus
He married his sister and had a son, Horus, by her.
Depending on the artist, he had solid green or solid black skin.
His parents were named Geb and Nut.
    He wasn't real.
After a rival god, Set, killed him and chopped him up, he needed his wife to put him back together and bring him back to life.
Along with being the god of the dead, he was the god of life, giving it freely to newborns.
His worship is the oldest of the Egyptian gods, going back 25,000 years.
    He was merciful.
Some historians believe that his worship inspired the concept of an immortal soul separate from the body. Others believe this concept came from the Bible.
When Isis put him back together, she couldn't find his penis so she made him a new one.
