    She finished at 22nd place in her Winter Olympics debut (2006).
    She had a knee injury that caused her to miss the 2007 World Championships.
    She was the first U.S. athlete in the 2010 Olympics to win the Gold Medal.

    She listed making jewelery, reading and horse riding as some of her hobbies.
    She performed the trumpet as a member of her high school jazz band.
