Wrote ‘The Enchanted Places (1974),’ ‘The Path Through the Trees (1979),’ ‘The Hollow on the Hill (1982)’ and ‘The Open Garden (1988)’
Nickname was ‘Billy Moon’

Why he might be annoying:

He was shy and effeminate as a child.
He only received a third-class degree at college.
He disappointed his father by not becoming a famous cricket player.
He hated his father and the ‘Winnie-the-Pooh’ stories.
He eventually stopped speaking to his mother.
He married his first cousin.
Their marriage produced a daughter with severe birth defects.
He wrote several books bitching about his unwanted ‘Winnie-the-Pooh’ fame.

Why he might not be annoying:

His father made him a character in children’s books, and so he was harassed his whole life by ‘Winnie-the-Pooh’ fans.
His parents were distant, and he was raised by a nanny.
He was teased by his schoolmates for having a ‘girl’s haircut.’
He was a good boxer.
He served in the British Army during World War II.
He felt he never had the chance to have a normal life.
