    Had recurring roles in the TV series 'Til Death Do Us Part,' 'On the Up' and 'As Time Goes By'
    Wrote the autobiography 'High Spirits' (2000)
    She was rejected by the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts three times before being admitted.
    She lived for three years with actor Anthony Baird, but whenever her parents visited she had Baird remove his things from her apartment.
    She later broke up with Baird at her father's insistence.
    She was depressed and alcoholic.
    In her autobiography, she complained about a lack of information on her imdb page.
    She was the daughter of a railway station master and became interested in acting while putting on performances for waiting train passengers.
    Her 'Carry On' salary, 2,500 pounds per film, remained the same over 20 years.
    She said one of the high points of her career was becoming good friends with Katharine Hepburn during the filming of 'Love Among the Ruins.'
    Fellow Carry On star Barbara Windsor said, 'Her talent was wonderful. She could do any accent, dialect, she could dance, sing, play dowdy and glam.'
