    His name sounds very generic.
    Unlike many film directors and screenwriters, he does not storyboard, opting instead for straightforward shot lists.
    He said in an interview that he cannot watch his film 'Moonlight' with an audience.
    Although 'Moonlight' won Best Picture, he lost the Best Director award to 'Damien Chazelle.'

    His favorite part of the filmmaking process is hands-on production which is where his real creative energy emerges.
    His film 'Moonlight' earned critical acclaim.

    He personally thanked 'La La Land' producer Justin Horowitz for being gracious enough to call out the mistake of naming 'La La Land' Best Picture by Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway.
