The Resume

Why The Beachcombers might be annoying:

Bruno played a character of Greek descent, but in reality, he was actually Italian.
The town's police officer was actually named Constable John Constable.
Relic was rather petty for a grown man, often stealing from Nick and the townspeople.
It shortened its name to 'Beachcombers' in its final season, in an attempt to make the show fresh.
It attempted to spin off some of the central characters on their own shows, all of which didn't gain traction with viewers.
It revamped the format to more suspenseful storylines and focused more on the action element, which drew negative criticism from the show's fanbase.
Its ratings went into decline during the later seasons, as a result of the series being shuffled into different time slots and weeknights.
In addition to the declining ratings, it was also cancelled as a result of budget cuts at the CBC.

With the diverse backgrounds of the characters, it gave viewers a glimpse of multiculturalism in Canada.
It was well-received by fans and critics alike.
The building in Gibsons, British Columbia that served as the exterior for Molly's Reach became an actual restaurant in the years following the end of the series.
The tugboat that served as 'Persephone' is located in the town of Gibsons as one of the town's main tourist attractions.
It had a catchy theme song.
