Why he might be annoying:

He preached that the Bible predicts future events.
He used the money from his late father's business to start Biblical courses.
His original followers were called 'Russellites.'
He had a strange fascination with pyramids.
His prophecies failed.
His wife left him after she caught him fondling their maid.
You can thank him for the people knocking on your door on Saturday morning.

Why he might not be annoying:

He had no hard feelings toward his wife and continued to support her even after they separated.
He didn't accept the popular Christian notion of eternal damnation in Hell.
He was literate in Greek and Hebrew.
He was so passionate about discussing the Bible that he didn't need a podium or script for his sermons; he would casually talk and walk around the stage as if he was in a regular conversation, with all of the information in his head.
