Why he might be annoying:

    He likes Dirty Harry movies and slightly resembles Clint Eastwood.
    Mistakes he made during two immunity challenges cost his La Mina tribe victories.
    Despite being an engineer with many years of experience and education, he had difficulties solving a critical immunity puzzle.
    Along with Terry, he was the quintessential 'nice older guy who got along with everyone.'
    He fell victim to a Survivor twist where the opposing Casaya tribe had the power to send someone on La Mina to exile and give that same person immunity; they exiled Sally, the person who would have been voted off.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He is very soft spoken.
    He received numerous academic honors in engineering and science, including a Masters of Arts degree in electrical engineering/computer science from Princeton.
    As an astronaut, he has spent 734 hours in space and ventured on four space walks.
    He quickly bonded with Terry upon arrival to Panama.
    In La Mina's first Tribal Council, he consoled Misty and Ruth Marie as the women's names showed up on the ballots.
    He was well liked and well respected by his tribe mates.
    As he was having his torch extinguished, the remaining La Mina men stood, then saluted him as he left Tribal Council.
    He accepted his cast off graciously.
