Famed as the writer of the anti-slavery 'Uncle Tom's Cabin (1851)'
Wrote 'A Key to Uncle Tom's Cabin (1853),' 'Dred, A Tale of the Great Dismal Swamp (1856),' 'The Minister's Wooing (1859),' 'The Pearl of Orr's Island (1862)' and 'Little Foxes (1866)'

Why she might be annoying:

She was a strict Puritan.
'Uncle Tom's Cabin' was her only significant novel.
She claimed God helped her write the book.
She accused Lord Byron of having an incestuous affair with his sister.
When Abraham Lincoln met her, he said, 'So you're the little woman who wrote the book that started this great war' (1862).
Her writings became popular in Russia after the 1917 Communist Revolution.

Why she might not be annoying:

She was passionately opposed to slavery.
She was an icon of the early American feminist movement.
Her writings helped turn many people in the North against slavery.
'Uncle Tom's Cabin' was the first mainstream American novel with an African-American hero.
At one point, 'Uncle Tom's Cabin' was the second best selling book in the U.S. after the Bible.
Her mental health collapsed two years after the death of her husband (1888).
