    Born in Longview, Texas
First baseman for the Texas Rangers (2008-11) and the Baltimore Orioles
American League Silver Slugger Award winner (2013)
Set a new MLB record for position players by going hitless in 54 consecutive at bats (September 14, 2018-April 13, 2019)
His nickname 'Crush' is a rip-off/play on Kevin Costner's 'Bull Durham' character, 'Crash' Davis.
He was suspended the last 17 games and the playoffs after he took Adderall without a therapeutic use exemption (2014).
Despite being a native Texan, he failed to crack a full time roster spot on the Rangers, due to his inconsistency.
He was left off the Rangers playoff roster during the team's 2010 run to the World Series.
He is a versatile player, as he played both the infield and outfield positions.
He established himself as an everyday player, upon being acquired by the Orioles.
He set a new Orioles franchise record for most home runs in a single season (53 in 2013).
He pitched a couple innings in relief during an extra innings game, and was the first American League position player in 44 years to get credited with a win (2012).
