    (August 6, 1976- )
    Born in Providence, Rhode Island
Creator of the TV series The O.C., Gossip Girl and Chuck
He had a subscription to Variety when he was 12.
When he got to USC he wondered, 'Where are all the pasty, sickly people?'
One of his scripts won the Nicholson Award at USC, but the award was taken back because he was a sophomore and you had to be a junior to enter.
Distancing 'The O.C.' from its predecessors, he said, 'I never really watched Dawson's Creek -- except for maybe once or twice.'
His parents were toy designers for Hasbro.
At 26, he became the youngest person to create and produce an hour-long series.
He said his favorite award was 'The O.C.' being named guilty pleasure of the year by VH-1.
He used his personal tastes in choosing music for his shows.
He endowed a TV screenwriting scholarship at USC.
He considers Cameron Crowe his biggest influence.
