He stabbed his girlfriend (former prostitute), Nancy Spungen to death (October 12, 1978).
He was arrested in connection with her murder.
Ten days after killing her, he slashed his wrists in a failed suicide attempt, screaming 'I want to be with my Nancy! I want to be left alone!'
He succeeded in his suicide by a heroin overdose (Feb. 1, 1979).
He was drug addicted.
His mother sprinkled his ashes over Nancy's grave.
