The Resume

    (2005- )
    Advertise products by Dove
Part of Dove’s ‘Campaign for Real Beauty’

Why they might be annoying:

They pose in boring white underwear.
Richard Roeper received hate mail after calling them ‘chunky.’
Though chosen for their natural curves, some of them may have been digitally altered to look slimmer.
Their ads can get rather self-righteous.
They promote dubious products such as firming cream.
Skeptics believe that using ‘real’ women to sell beauty products is hypocritical.

Why they might not be annoying:

Public response has been generally positive.
Sales of Dove products went up after they were introduced.
They are ordinary women rather than professional models.
They represent a relatively diverse range of ages and ethnic backgrounds.
Though often called fat, they are well within a medically acceptable weight range.
They are a healthy alternative to the anorexic norm of the beauty industry.
