Why he might be annoying:

    He sported a huge walrus mustache.
    His only feature film, ‘The Adventures of Mark Twain,’ was a flop.
    He lost control of his company to a group of investors headed by Nike’s Phil Knight (2002).
    He also lost the rights to the characters he had created and even the trademark for the word Claymation.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He originally studied architecture and began working with clay ‘because I really liked the organic shapes of Antoni Gaudi.’
    He won an Oscar for Best Animated Short Film for ‘Closed Mondays’ (1975) and six Primetime Emmys.
    He was fired without severance pay by Knight and replaced by Knight’s son.
    He said, ‘I think clay is the perfect substance for animation. The possibilities of the medium are virtually limitless.’
