Why he might be annoying:

He lobbied the FCC to alter the FM frequencies to a higher band, rendering a lot of expensive transmitters and receivers obsolete.
Edwin Armstrong sued him for infringing his FM patent.
He tried to steal Armstrong's FM patent by claiming RCA invented the FM, and later conceded.
He tried to steal Philo T. Farnsworth's TV patents by litigation and later he lost.
He ruined the lives of Edwin Armstrong and Philo T. Farnsworth.

Why he might not be annoying:

He helped support his family with small jobs like selling newspapers.
He was a successful businessman.
He had a vision that radio will become a source for entertainment and information.
