Why he might be annoying:

His nickname is 'K-Rod', which is a rip-off of Alex Rodriguez's famous 'A-Rod' moniker.
He was originally a starter in the minors, but was forced to relief duty as a result of injuries.
He is extremely injury prone.
He has unorthodox pitching mechanics.
He was virtually unheard of in baseball circles, prior to his dominating post-season run (2002).
He was arrested for assaulting his father-in-law at CitiField following a Mets game (August 11, 2010).

Why he might not be annoying:

He is the youngest player in baseball history to win a World Series game.
He gradually transitioned into the closer's role, serving as a setup man to Troy Percival and taking over the reins when the latter signed with Detroit.
He played for Venezuela at the first two World Baseball Classic tournaments.
He set a major league record for most saves in a single season (62 in 2008).
When his number 57 was in use by Johan Santana , he unselfishly chose number 75 upon signing with the Mets.
