The Resume

    (December 23, 1957- )
Born in New York City, New York
Trader on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE)
Photo often accompanies news stories about Wall Street, particularly when the stock market has been volatile
Often called the most photographed, most recognizable, or most famous stock trader

Why he might be annoying:

He regularly violates the NYSE dress code. (‘I’m special. After thirty years, you get to wear sneakers.’)
Despite having been a stock trader for over three decades, he never owned stock himself, claiming that if he had to worry about his own profits and losses, he would not be able to concentrate on his customers’ interests.
His advice for investors is ‘Don’t panic when the markets goes up and down,’ which seems odd coming from a guy who sure looks like he’s panicking when the market takes a plunge.
He said the most important lesson he learned is ‘Never get emotional about money as a trader’ – which again seems contradicted by his expressions.

Why he might not be annoying:

His parents were Holocaust survivors who met in a displaced persons camp after World War II.
He said about being on the NYSE floor, ‘I love the environment, the frantic screaming and yelling…. I thrive on chaos.’
He says his facial expressions are ‘100 percent genuine.’
His explanation for his ubiquity: ‘It’s pretty simple to look at me and see if it’s an up 400 day, or a down 400 day.’
