    Recorded the albums 'Heartbreak Town,' 'Waitin' On Joe,' 'Indianola' and 'Slide On Over Here'

Why he might be annoying:

    He began performing outside of liquor stores at the age of 10.
    He never was able to land a substantial break in country music.
    Despite performing for years, he didn't receive mainstream exposure until the release of 'Waitin' On Joe.'
    He walked out of his songwriting contract, due to being unhappy with the fast paced nature of the business.
    He trashed his debut album 'Heartbreak Town,' citing he felt he had no creative control, which in turn made it an inaccurate portrayal of who he was as an artist.
    He named one of his sons Strack.
    His singing voice was compared to that of John Mellencamp's.
    He had to wait two years to buy out his contract at River North Records, despite the fact the label was already bankrupt at that point.

    He founded the Mighty Mississippi Music Festival in his hometown of Greenville, before relocating it to nearby Clarkdale.
