Why he might be annoying:

He was fined $100,000 for scalping Super Bowl tickets (June 30, 2005).
His team has been underachieving for years.
He is almost always seen with a pencil in his ear.
The Vikings have had countless scandals under his term as head coach, including the Onterrio Smith 'Whizzinator incident,' the Vikings' sex party cruise, and the ticket scalping scandal.
Many Minnesota fans were calling for him to be fired after the 2nd game of the 2005 season.
He is the lowest paid coach in the NFL.
In his weekly press conferences, he has alluded to everything from vomiting to the 'Randy Ratio' to toilets.

Why he might not be annoying:

He gained a reputation for being one of the 'wittiest coaches,' because he gives entertaining press conferences.
He was the first Vikings coach to win his first playoff game, beating the Packers in the 2004 season's playoffs.
He is the first former Vikings player to be the head coach of the team.
He helps out with Minnesota's Special Olympics.
He tore his ACL when he was knocked over on the sidelines by the Giants Tim Carter. He did not let the injury force him to spend any time away from his job (November 13, 2005).
