    When he was twelve, he performed a freestyle rap for Kendrick Lamar, who told him, ‘You gonna be somebody in the world.’
    His music combines West Coast hip-hop, southern trap music, and Chicago drill rap. (‘I don’t like boundaries. That’s why I am how I am.’)
    Recording engineer Chris Dennis noted, ‘You have to work fast because he can record a song in 10 minutes.’
    ’The Box’ topped the Billboard Hot 100 without having been released as a single.
    He performed with Meek Mill, DJ Khaled, and YG in the Grammy Awards tribute to Nipsey Hussle.
