Outlaw

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

He got his first Harley-Davidson by answering a classified ad, beating the seller senseless, and stealing the bike.
At age sixteen, he was sent to juvenile detention for stealing a car.
He was sentenced to two years' probation for another car theft (1968).
At the time of the Altamont concert, he was awaiting sentencing after being convicted of marijuana possession and was awaiting trial on charges of grand theft and possession of stolen property.
A few days after Altamont, he got arrested on yet another auto theft charge.
He served two years in prison after being convicted on weapons violations and federal racketeering charges (1982-84).

Why he might not be annoying:

He was born with a shortened ligament in his right leg that caused him to walk with his foot turned up at the heel. (He underwent corrective surgery at a Shriners hospital in his teens.)
The film showed Hunter drawing a gun before the stabbing.
Largely as result of the film, he was acquitted of murder on self-defense grounds.
He was found floating dead in the Anderson Reservoir with $10,000 in his pockets.
Police described his death as 'kind of suspicious' but never arrested anyone for it.
