Why Wuhan, China might be annoying:

Because of its oppressively hot and humid summers, it was one of the cities known as ‘the Three Furnaces.’
It frequently records the worst air quality for any city in China.
It has 27 sister cities. (A little excessive, no?)
It has repeatedly suffered from devastating floods; for example, floods in 1931 left over 700,000 residents homeless.
It was the epicenter of the 2019-20 coronavirus pandemic.
In an attempt to contain the virus, the entire metro area was put under lockdown (January, 2020).

Why Wuhan, China might not be annoying:

Sun Yat-Sen started the rebellion that overthrew the Qing Dynasty in Wuchang (1911).
It served as China’s capital for ten months during the Sino-Japanese War (1937-38).
It has the largest public bike sharing program in the world, with over 90,000 bicycles.
It is considered the political, economic, cultural, and educational center of Central China.
It has been nicknamed ‘the Chicago of China’ for being a major transportation hub.
