Why The Office (UK) might be annoying:

The humor is subtle and deadpan, either you get or you don't. If you don't it is a boring tedious.
Stephen Merchant originated the idea of filming a comedy as a documentary as an attempt to get a job with the BBC.
The scene in which Brent gives Tim his appraisal took 74 takes, as both actors continually cracked up.
The show has many similar themes as the 1996-2005 Canadian TV comedy 'Newsroom.'
Creator Stephen Merchant gave his father a non-speaking role.

Why The Office (UK) might not be annoying:

The characters are quirky and well developed.
It became so popular, that France, Germany, Canada and the US made their own versions.
It was the rare Brit-com that was successfully adapted to American TV.
It was surprising that NBC would adapt another Brit-com considering the ultra failure it had with Coupling.
The Canadian-French version combined the name of Ricky Gervais and his character David Brent to name their main character David Gervais.
The German version did not originally credit Ricky Gervais as the creator, but eventually did.
It makes subtle references to the movie 'Office Space.'
It was the first Brit-Com to win a Golden Globe in a quarter of a century.
It held the record in the UK, for best selling TV series DVD sales.
