The Resume

    (March 30, 1888-February 11, 1974)
    Born in Ystad, Sweden
Appeared in the films 'Molly Pitcher' (1911), 'Regeneration' (1915), 'Seven Keys to Baldpate' (1917), 'Auction of Souls' (1919), 'The Luck of the Irish' (1920), 'The Lotus Eaters' (1921), 'Inez from Hollywood' (1924), 'Miss Nobody' (1926), 'The Greater Glory' (1926), 'Blockade' (1928), 'The Farmer's Daughter' (1947), 'Sunset Blvd.' (1950), 'An American in Paris' (1951) and 'Seven Brides for Seven Brothers' (1954)

Why she might be annoying:

Her marriage to actor Guy Coombs broke up in under a year; her next marriage, to shoe merchant John Gunnerson, managed to last two years.
Leading roles for her dried up during the sound era because of her Swedish accent.
Ironically, her role as one of the washed-up silent stars who play bridge with Norma Desmond in 'Sunset Blvd.' is now probably her best-known film appearance.

Why she might not be annoying:

She was named Photoplay's 'ideal American girl.' (1919)
    She received a then-record 30,000 fan letters in a single month (1928).
She was twice seriously injured after being thrown from a horse, suffering temporary paralysis in one accident (1925) and breaking her hip in the other (1928).
She was the first Swedish-born actress with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
