Why she might be annoying
She went from refusing to endorse Donald Trump during his Presidential campaign to literally embracing him at rallies during her Senate campaign.
She went from calling Trump’s boasts about grabbing women ‘by the pussy’ ‘disgusting’ and ‘unacceptable’ to complaining about the media’s ‘obsession’ with Trump’s character.
She voted to repeal Obamacare, then declared during her Senate campaign, ‘We cannot go back to where we were before Obamacare.’
She opposed prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation.
She co-sponsored a bill to provide a path to citizenship for some children of illegal immigrants, then asked to be removed as co-sponsor when she faced two hardliners on immigration in the Republican primary for the Senate nomination.
She accused Sinema of ‘treason’ over a radio interview in which she blew off the host asking what her opinion would be if he joined the Taliban with ‘I don’t care if you want to do that, go ahead.’
Why she might not be annoying
She was valedictorian of St. Mary’s Academy – Bay View, and first in her class at the Air War College.
During the enforcement of the no-fly zone in southern Iraq, she became the first American woman to fly in combat and the first woman to command a USAF fighter squadron.
She filed a lawsuit against the Department of Defense challenging its requirement that female military personnel wear a body-covering abaya when travelling off base in Saudi Arabia (2001); a year later the military changed its policy from requiring the abaya to merely ‘encouraging’ it as a sign of respect for local customs.
She is a triathlete.
A Tucson man was sentenced to 15 months in prison for threatening to assault and kill her (2018).
She defeated Joe Arpaio for the Republican nomination for Senate.
Unlike Rick Scott in Florida, she did not start making unsupported allegations of fraud when counting all the ballots resulted in her election night lead over Sinema eroding.
In her videotaped concession, she was upstaged by her golden retriever Boomer, who attempted to shake her hand in mid-speech.
