    He was a journeyman player.
    He transferred colleges with Princeton University and Columbia University.
    Columbia's 44-game losing streak came to an end as he played for the Princeton team that lost a game against them (1988).
    He injured his shoulder during the first game of the 1991 WLAF season as a Rider.
    He was used as a backup in the majority of his NFL career.
    He lost to Steve Spagnuolo for the St. Louis Rams' head coaching position to replace Jim Haslett (2009).

    He excelled in football, basketball and baseball in high school.
    He has a degree in history.
    He earned two Super Bowl rings with the Cowboys (1994 and 1996).
    In a game against the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving, he made 2 touchdowns as he made 15 of 26 passes for 311 yards (November 1994).
    According to ESPN, his play during the 1994 Thanksgiving game was one of the best moments in Texas Stadium history (2008).
    He is considered one of the highest paid assistant coaches in NFL history.
