Her ‘ER’ role causes people to think she is physically disabled and a lesbian in real life. She is neither.
She made guest appearances on the Nickelodeon show ‘Hey Dude’, which stars her husband, David Brisbin.
She swallowed an acorn when she was one year old, which required three tracheotomies to remove.

She graduated Northwestern University.
She has dyslexia.
Her first fiancée was murdered, and she still has trouble talking about it.
She directed several episodes for ‘ER’ and ‘The West Wing’ and is the only ‘ER’ actor to receive an Emmy nomination for directing.
