The Resume

    (October 26, 1962- )
    Born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada
Goaltender for the Pittsburgh Penguins (1982-87; 1994) and the Boston Bruins (1987)
Also played for HC Meran (1987-88), HC Bolzano (1988-90) and HC Devils Milano (1990-93)

Why he might be annoying:

He shares his name with an actor.
His small stature served as a deterrent for teams from drafting him.
He is remembered for being sent to the minors by the Penguins management during the 1983-84 season as a punishment for playing well, as the team was deliberately tanking to secure the rights to draft Mario Lemieux first overall.
This was confirmed 30 years later by the team’s head coach that season, Lou Angotti, who stated his decision to do it was in order to weaken the team further in order to preserve its standing in the draft order.
He posted a career record of 46-63-8 in seven NHL seasons.

Why he might not be annoying:

He defied insurmountable odds and reached the NHL, despite being undrafted and being told he was too small by his coaches.
He chose to play well on own merits during the Penguins tank season.
He returned to the Penguins nearly a decade after making his initial debut with the team.
He established himself as a star in the Italian hockey leagues, following his initial exit from the NHL.
He was born to Italian parents, which in turn made him eligible to play for the Italian national team in IIIHF competition.
