At the age of eleven, she took part in the filming of a controversial rape scene.
She played Sophia Loren's daughter despite the difference in their ages being only 14 years. (They looked like they could have been sisters!)
She made a handful of films in Italian cinema after her debut, but retired at 19 after doing 'The Young, the Evil, and the Savage.'

Her father was an American Red Cross worker who met her Neapolitan mother in post-World War II Italy.
She beat out hundreds of girls for the part of Rosetta, including Rafaella Carra.
'Two Women' director Vittorio De Sica told her a telegram had arrived saying that her parents had died in a car accident to elicit real tears for her final climactic scene.
She later said that Sophia Loren shielded her from the implications of the rape scene they filmed, telling her instead that she was being beaten.
She quit movies to attend John Cabot University in Rome, graduating with a degree in Business and Economics.
She was widowed from her first husband in 1993.
She later worked as a translator at the Italian Parliament.
She returned to the screen for the first time in 50 years for the 2018 film 'Un Amore Così Grande (A Love So Big).'
