Why they might be annoying:

Orlando initially kept his name off the group in case 'Candida' was a flop.
They were originally a studio-only group, with Orlando recording the lead vocals in New York while Hopkins and Wilson added backing vocals in LA.
Orlando called their biggest hit, Tie A Yellow Ribbon, 'The corniest song I've ever heard in my life.'
Orlando surprised Hopkins and Wilson when he announced his retirement in the middle of a concert (July 22, 1977).

Why they might not be annoying:

They made their live debut at Carnegie Hall, having already sold more than 9 million records.
Hopkins and Wilson became best friends, living only 10 minutes from each other in Los Angeles.
'Tie A Yellow Ribbon' became the theme song for returning hostages and soldiers.
