Why he might be annoying
His team La Resistance was originally from France, acting as a Frenchman during the time where there was resentment towards France from the United States. The whole gimmick caused a huge uproar with fans, especially those involved in the U.S. Armed Forces.
He joined La Resistance as an American being a French sympathizer, a gimmick that has been done many times and never works.
Once the heat with France died down, the team hailed from Montreal and became devoted Canadians.
Now that he's a Canadian sympathizer, he calls himself 'Robaire Conway.'
Why he might not be annoying
During his time with OVW and MCW, he had a successful title winning tag team with Nick Dinsmore, who went on to become Eugene.
Although the premise to his involvement with La Resistance got a bad reaction from fans, he was brought in to replace Sylvain Grenier while he was injured and he and Rene Dupree made for a solid tag team.
Although he is hated in the U.S. and other countries, he's a huge fan favorite in Canada, especially Montreal, and the fans went nuts when he and Grenier won the tag team titles.
His finisher, the flapjack, is one of the most devastating tag team finishers today and he's even able to perform the move on guys who weigh around 400 pounds.
