Why she might be annoying
She was nicknamed 'Baby Jane' after the Bette Davis/Joan Crawford film 'Whatever Happened to Baby Jane,' which she had not yet seen. ('When I saw the movie, I thought, 'Oh my God, what have they done to me?'... The name stuck, which is a drag.')
She is often described as the first Warhol Superstar, although Warhol himself gave that title to Naomi Levine.
She left the Warhol Factory after he turned his interest to Edie Sedgwick. ('I would be a liar if I said I wasn't jealous of Edie.')
She produced the film 'Kiss of the Spider Woman' even though she admitted, 'I read the script and thought it was the most boring thing.'
Why she might not be annoying
She said about growing up in Palm Beach, Florida: 'And then would come Friday night, the dances at Bath and Tennis and the Everglades club, and guess who couldn’t go because they were Jewish?'
Warhol said, 'She was such a gorgeous girl - great skin and hair. And so much enthusiasm - she wanted to do everything.'
She re-established contact with Warhol after he was shot.
She was mentioned twice in the Roxy Music song 'Virginia Plain.'
