Why BlueLight Internet Service might be annoying:

It only gave its customers one month notice before closing down the ISP (July 2001).
It forced the Yahoo toolbar on top of the browser.
The ads were approximately twice the size of NetZero Internet.
Many complained that the actual browsing window was tiny.
If you opted to use the Yahoo POP3 Email account, you had to agree to get Yahoo partner mail (spam).
It forced a download of a Martha Stewart video every time you logged in. It would consume time, bandwidth and CPU usage. Each time you logged on, it would delete it and resend the most current one.
It required credit card information to register.
    It conflicted with McAfee VirusScan.
It forces BlueLight as your home page.
The dial-up access tended to give busy signals if dialed during prime times.
Many of the ads were provided by Kmart.

Why BlueLight Internet Service might not be annoying:

It allowed those with Yahoo web mail to access the email as POP3.
Spinway provided free Internet access (Barnes and Noble, Costco, NBC, Spiegel and Yahoo).
If you made purchases from BlueLight Internet Service, it rewarded you with extra free access time.
The email offered a then generous 5MB storage and allowed for attachments.
Its ad window was smaller than most free ISPs and was moved easily.
