The Resume

    (September 6, 1935-June 14, 2014)
    Born in La Tronche, France
Birth name was Isabelle Collin Dufresne
    Mixed-media artist and actress
    Warhol Superstar
Appeared in the films 'I, A Man' (1967), '**** (Four Stars)' (1967), 'Midnight Cowboy' (1969), 'Maidstone' (1970), 'The Phynx' (1970), 'Simon, King of the Witches' (1971), 'The Telephone Book' (1971), 'Bad Charleston Charlie' (1971), 'Curse of the Headless Horsewoman' (1974), 'An Unmarried Woman' (1978) and 'Blackout' (1994)
Wrote 'Famous for Fifteen Minutes: My Years with Andy Warhol' (1988)

Why she might be annoying:

After choosing her Warhol Factory name, she wore all violet clothes and dyed her hair to match.
She wrote of her days with Warhol, 'Ultra Violet becomes the unleashed exhibitionist, the mad heedless creature, chasing headlines, totally uninhibited, an unabashed freak.'
Warhol said about her, 'She’d tell journalists, ‘I collect art and love’. But what she really collected were press clippings.'
She had a nervous breakdown after an affair with a married painter (1973).
Exhibitions of her work attract attention more for the Warhol connection than any artistic merit.
The accuracy of her memoirs was disputed by other Warhol insiders. (For instance, Viva dubbed her 'a late-blooming writer of fiction.')

Why she might not be annoying:

Her rebellion against her religious upbringing prompted her parents to bring in a priest to perform an exorcism (1948).
She moved to New York after being raped by a friend of the family.
Before becoming part of the Warhol crowd, she modeled for Salvador Dali, so she was no one-artist muse.
Warhol said, 'She was past a certain age, but she was still beautiful; she looked a lot like Vivien Leigh.'
Unlike many Factory regulars, she avoided drugs.
A review of one of her art shows noted, 'She does not seem to mind posing in the nude.'
