Why he might be annoying:

His nickname is ‘Cowboy.’
He is extremely religious, yet he is divorced with two children from his first marriage and two from his second one.
He, along with Giants teammates Dave Dravecky, Atlee Hammaker and Scott Garrelts were dubbed ‘The God Squad’ due to their beliefs.
This was evident when the group elected to do Bible studies together, rather then go out with other teammates on road trips.
He played on four teams in a five-year span at the end of his career.

He was a multi-sport athlete in high school.
He is a co-holder of the SEC record for most wins in a season.
He was a member of the Giants team that made their first World Series appearance in 27 years (1989).
He recorded a career-high 44 saves, earning his NL Relief Man Award (1996).
